On October 21, 2022, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the designation of Ethiopia for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months. Individuals who are already residing in the United States as of October 20, 2022 will be eligible for TPS. The Illinois Homeowners Assistance Fund application will be re-launching on November 1st.
Eligible homeowners are able to receive up to $30,000 in assistance for their mortgage or taxes
